My Top 5 Hiking Snacks From Trader Joe’s

I don’t know about you, but when I hike I get hungry. Like if I don’t eat right now I’m going to simultaneously faint and kick someone in the face hungry. That’s why it’s vital that I have snacks with me what that 4 miles in when breakfast has worn off I have something to keep me going! Que the apple of my eye Trader Joe <3.

This isn’t a sponsored post (although I really wish it was!) I just love this grocery store, and they make some kick ass snacks! Alright! Let’s get into it:

Teriyaki Turkey Jerky

I don’t know what it is about this particular brand, but my man the Trader absolutely nails it! Not uncomfortably salty, a little sweet, and a savory finish makes it the perfect snack. I could and have finished entire bags of this stuff. And with only 240 cals for the whole bag I don’t feel like it’s too bad 😉

Happy Trekking Trail Mix

It’s in the name, and TJs carry’s a pretty big array of trail mixes, but this one takes the cake for me. There’s a quality mix of nuts, sweetness from the chocolate chips, and a little tangy-ness from the dried cranberries! My only complaint is that I don’t think there’s enough salt, but it’s an easy fix just by adding a little in and shaking up the bag.

Fruit Leather

Do you remember when you were little and your mom gave you fruit leathers in your lunch box for school and it was like winning the lottery? Just me? Awk… Anyway, I love the fruit leather because they’re an awesome little boost of sugar while you’ve hiking when you need something to get you to the top but don’t want to stop moving.

Just Mango Slices

You can get these other places, but I haven’t found anywhere that sells dried fruits at the same price point that Trade-y Joe’s does. My personal affinity is for the dried mango slices because they’ve got a great texture and they’re not too sweet. Plus a little goes a long way here.

Cheddar Rocket Crackers

Listen, in terms of durability this snack isn’t winning any awards. In terms of being worth carrying this might be my top snack on this list. The cheddar rockets taste like a mix between a Cheez-it and a Goldfish cracker and I. am. Into. It. Trust me on this one, you want these on your next hike!

Alright, now that I’ve shared my hiking snack must haves from Trader Joe’s tell me about your favorite Trader Joe’s Snack!

Question: What snack has to be in your pack?
