My Review on 5 RXBar’s Flavors

Ahhh! RXBar’s are my absolute favorite snack ALL the time! I have them in my pantry, my purse, my backpack, my desk at work, everywhere!!!

I’m a huge believer in taking care of my body through food and that means eating well when I’m off the trail so that I can bring my A-game when I’m out in the wilderness.

Enter RXBars. You guys, these bars are insane! They have 6 base ingredients, and that’s it.

• No Chemicals
• No added sugars
• No Dairy
• No Soy
• No Gluten

I took that straight off of their site because I think this snack is SO inclusive to pretty much everyone’s diets or way of eating and I love that!

Anyway, this post isn’t sponsored, I just love them so much and as someone who’s eaten a lot of protein bars in her day, these rank in my top three because of their price, ingredients, variety, and taste! I think everyone is pretty familiar with their basic flavors, so I figured for this post I would get into some of their less common flavors to find out which ones were worth getting and which ones might be worth skipping over.

Let’s get into it!

Peanut Butter Chocolate RXBar

Loved it. Honestly this bar felt really reminiscent of a candy bar! It was chocolatey with full crunchy peanuts dispersed throughout! I was imagining it to be like a reeces situation but it was a lot more like a hybrid of a peanut m&m and a snickers bar. I don’t want to claim that it tastes like a snickers bar, a) because I haven’t had one in years and b) because let’s be real, this isn’t going to taste exactly like a snickers, that’s like saying turkey bacon tastes like bacon. They’re both good, but they’re different!

Peanut Butter & Berries RXBar

Pun fully intended, this bar just wasn’t my jam. I don’t know why, but for some reason I was really expecting this to taste like a PB&J. It didn’t, and while I did really like it I felt like the berries had a much stronger flavor and presence than the “peanut butter”. Additionally, if we were really going to give this bar an accurate name it would have been Berries with Peanuts. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a good flavor, but for me there was no peanut butter taste, just a peanut taste. Does that make sense?

Chocolate Hazelnut RXBar

Oh. My. Gosh. This bar was by far my favorite on this list. It tasted almost exactly like a brownie and the texture while the same as all the other RXBars lent itself kindly to my imagination. I don’t think this bar had much of a hazelnut flavor at all, which is what I was expecting; so minus points for the lack of nutella resemblance, but even then still me overall winner!

Mango Pinapple RXBar

Yes, yes, yes! Everything about this bar tasted like what a Hawaiian vacation feels like. It was fruit-y, chewy, and balanced. every bite tasted like pineapple and mango and they both tasted real and raw instead of processed which is an issue I’ve run into with some similar bars.

Coffee Chocolate RXBar

I think coffee flavored anything is a dangerous game to play, and I was skeptical about the idea of almonds thrown into the mix. That skepticism was eradicated completely upon my first bit of this bar! The coffee taste is present throughout the entire experience, but it’s not bitter or unpleasant in the slightest. You don’t taste the almonds at all but they provide a really lovely crunch throughout the borderline nougat-y texture that RXBar posses. I feel like this tasted like what a solidified mocha latte would taste like, and I’m really down for round two.

So there you have it! My review of 5 of the newer RXBars. Hopefully this points you in the direction of your next snack this week!

Question: Do you prefer Chocolatey or Fruity energy bars?
